Aston Villa are currently considering accepting a £6 million bid made by Premier League side Burnley for Ashley Westwood, according to reports
Aston Villa clearly did not enjoy the best of campaigns last term but there were some positives for the Villans to look back upon and the performances of midfielder Ashley Westwood was certainly one of them.
Westwood made a total of 37 appearances in all competitions for Villa last season and was one of the few consistent performers in what was a terrible campaign for the Midlands based outfit.
Westwood could be set for Burnley move
Given his performances last season, Westwood has understandably managed to grab the attention from a number of clubs and recently, it had been reported that newly promoted Premier League outfit Burnley were considering a move for the 26-year-old.
Now in a further development to the story, it has been revealed that Burnley have placed a sizeable £6 million bid for Westwood and Villa are currently mulling over whether or not to accept the offer.
While it is clear to see that Westwood is a key figure in the Villa side, the money being offered by Burnley is certainly a big amount and manager Roberto Di Matteo could well consider cashing in.
