Aston Villa are interested in the signature of Sheffield United forward Leon Clarke during the January transfer window in hopes toease their striking problems, according to reports.
Villa are currently struggling to get goals on a regular basis this season and this is mainly due to injury to the Villians’ first choice strikers.
Both Scott Hogan and Jonathan Kodjia are currently out injured and therefore, Villa are in need of new striking options to cover during the absence of the aforementioned players.
As a result, many players have been linked with the Midlands club – who are scouting multiple players at the moment and one of them is Sheffield United’s Leon Clarke.
Clarke is currently the top scorer in the Championship with 13 goals in just 16 appearances and this fine form has propelled the Blades into the play-off positions during the current campaign.
However, it is believed that Aston Villa are not keen to sign the forward on a permanent deal and are rather looking for a loan move as the Villians believe Clarke at 32 will probably not be able to offer more in years to come.
