Arsenal are interested in signing Aston Villa’s technical director Steve Round to replace the outgoing Dick Law, according to the Daily Mail.
Aston Villa’s Round has done a fantastic job for the Championship side, with the 47-year-old securing some impressive signings for the Midlands club in recent years.
However even with the decent signings, Aston Villa have failed to succeed on the pitch and much of the blame can be attributed to the players failing to live up to their billing.
With the benefit of hindsight, it might be easier to brand the players brought into the club to not be good enough but at the time of the signings, most of the names could be considered a coup for the Midlands based outfit.
Round was also part of the very successful Everton side under the management of David Moyes as the Toffees remained competitive in the Premier League for a number of years despite minimal investment in the squad – which shows his ability for efficient recruitment.
These records show clearly how good Round has been throughout his career and this recent interest from Arsenal is probably justified.
