Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has hinted through social media website Twitter that he could potentially look to keep hold of the services of Jordan Veretout next season.
Aston Villa splashed £7 million to secure the services of Jordan Veretout at the start of last season and a lot was expected from the Frenchman at Villa Park, considering his fine performances for Nantes before his arrival to England.
However, Veretout was unable to prove his worth during his time with Villa and having failed to help the Midlands based outfit avoid relegation into the Championship, the 24-year-old made a return back to France by joining Saint-Etienne on a loan deal.
Veretout to stay at Villa?
Upon making the move to Saint-Etienne, Veretout has managed to recapture his best form once again and it is believed that a number of clubs could look to make a swoop for the former France Under-21 international next summer.
Now in a surprise revelation, Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has opened up the possibility of Veretout staying put at Villa Park through his social media Twitter account.
The Villa chief posted,
Even some clubs offered interest, maybe we should persuade JV back Villa next season?😇😇😇 https://t.co/fCyKzpYqro

While Villa could well do with the services of a quality player like Veretout in their hopes of earning promotion into the Premier League next season, it does look unlikely that the Frenchman would want to stay put at the club – especially considering the interest he has generated.
