According to reports from the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are considering a move for Sheffield Wednesday attacker Jordan Rhodes.
Aston Villa have been looking into the market for a goal scoring centre-forward for a couple of seasons now and have signed different players with varying degree of success so far.
The Villians struggled to get goals last season, hitting the net only 47 times, which was the fourth lowest total in the Championship. Apart from Jonathan Kodjia, the lack of good finisher was the main reason why they finished the season in mid table last season.
The Midlands club have been guilty of wasting way to many good chances and Steve Bruce seem to have lost patience with Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ross McCormack as he looks for new signings in the transfer market.
Bruce did sign Scott Hogan before the start of the season, and he looks to further strengthen his forward line with the recruitment of Rhodes.
The 27-years-old is a proven goal scorer in the Championship level, having scored almost 100 League goals during his time in Blackburn, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday so far.
Villa and Rhodes look like a match made in heaven. Aston Villa need a new goal scorer to push for promotion while Rhodes will be looking for a fresh new start after struggling at Wednesday.
