Simeon Slavchev has gone on to reveal that he did receive an offer from Birmingham City this summer but the transfer could not be completed due to the asking price.
Birmingham City enjoyed a strong summer transfer window, bringing in a host of high profile players such as Jota, Marc Roberts, Maxime Colin, Craig Gardner and David Stockdale among others to the club but they did miss out on the much anticipated signing of Simeon Slavchev.
Slavchev had been on trial at St. Andrew’s this summer but the Blues did not sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.
Now the 23-year-old has gone on to speak about his prospective move to Birmingham by stating that the Blues had indeed placed an offer for him but with parent club Sporting Lisbon setting an asking price of around £3million, the transfer did not come into fruition.
Slavchev said, “I had three offers from English, French and Italian clubs, whose names I don’t want to mention. But the negotiations failed and Sporting didn’t sell me. I knew that if I wasn’t sold I would return to Lechia, where I’ve always been respected by everyone.”
