According to reports from the Scotsman, Celtic have fended off competition from Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City to sign Irish midfielder Barry Coffey.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers certainly has a propensity of nurturing young talent and the success enjoyed by the likes of Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney last season is a testament to this fact.
One can be certain that Rodgers will be looking to recruit more talented young players during the current summer transfer window and according to reports from the Scotsman; revelations can be made that the Hoops have signed highly rated midfielder Barry Coffey.
Coffey played for Chelsea last season and he had been offered trials by the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City this summer.
However, Celtic have managed to beat the competition from the Premier League giants to sign Coffey and the 16-year-old’s recruitment can be viewed as a major coup for the Hoops.
