Stuart Armstrong has revealed that he is on the verge of signing a new contract with Celtic.
Stuart Armstrong endured a slow start to life at Celtic since joining from Dundee United back in January 2015 but the 25-year-old really came to the fore last season, scoring a sensational 15 goals in 31 league appearances as the Hoops dominated Scottish football.
Armstrong’s fine displays have earned him admiration from a host of clubs and reports have claimed that a number of Premier League outfits are currently considering a move for the goalscoring midfielder.
As a huge source of relief for the Celtic fans though, it can now be revealed by the midfielder himself that he is on the verge of signing a contract extension at Parkhead and is unlikely to be leaving Glasgow anytime soon.
He was quoted saying in the Sun, “We had decided to leave it until the season was finished and then we would pick things up again. I’m sure we will take care of that soon. You can never put a time limit on these things.
“This is the happiest I have been in my footballing career. That has shown on the park, I am very happy and playing some of the best football of my life.”
