French superstar Karim Benzema’s long-term future at Real Madrid has been subject to a lot of speculation in the last few weeks and as exclusively reported by Winner Sports, the 26-year old is looking to end his five-year association with the Spanish giants and is pondering a move to the English top-flight in the summer, with Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City interested in his services.
Winner Sports has understood that Benzema’s representatives have already held preliminary talks with both Chelsea and Manchester City, and a move to either side in the summer remains a distinct possibility.
However, Winner Sports can now reveal that Chelsea and City face additional competition in the race to secure the signature of Benzema, as the striker is also being pursued by clubs in Italy and France.
We caught up with Benzema’s agent Jonathan Hope recently and he provided us with an update to the situation regarding his star client.
Hope admitted that although the proposal put forward by Chelsea and City is very attractive, he will be assessing the recent offers put on the table by the clubs in Italy and France during his meeting with senior club officials in London tonight.
Hope told Winner Sports. “On the back of the Winner Sports story on my boy Karim Benzema I can confirm an offer of interest in Italy and one in France. Man City making all the sense at present but Chelsea are there and again of interest.
“I’m now going to meet a few sporting directors in London. Benzema is hot property and as an agent it’s exciting. However, I will state exclusively that I give all my players the best client care. It’s all about them and then my team.”
Hope did not reveal the identity of the clubs interested in Benzema so as to avoid complications but assured that Winner Sports will be the first one to know if there are in developments regarding his client in the coming days, before reiterating the fact that there has been no contact from Arsenal in relation to the French striker.
He continued, “Again as previously stated Winner Sports are my reporting outlet and I will remain exclusive on such a big global transfer.
“Busiest window I’ve been involved with in my ten years as an agent. Karim remains a Real Madrid player and that remains in-tact. My trip to London is now half on half but not Arsenal. Let’s see how it unfolds. Winner sports will be the first to know.”
