Since Cesc Fabregas’ move to Barcelona from Arsenal there has been a lot of talk about the midfielder’s future at the Spanish club. As the midfielder is behind the pecking order of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets in midfield, Fabregas has had had to compensate by filling in at various positions.

Although, Fabregas has made 114 appearances since his move to Barcelona, there has been a suggestion that he is not entirely happy at the club. Manchester United attempted to entice the midfielder from Nou Camp over the summer but were not able to do so.

Fabregas featured in Barcelona’s recent clash against Real Betis and score twice in the absence of Lionel Messi. Following the match the 26-year vented his frustration at his role under Gerardo Martino saying that he is not in the manager’s plans and he had to vindicate himself.

Fabregas said, “Today was time to say that I am here. I know the boss has a starting team in his head, and I am not in it.

“I played a good game against Celta, and then I was left out for most of the two games [against Espanyol and AC Milan], and that really messes you up. Today I wanted to vindicate myself so that does not happen again.”

Barcelona would certainly welcome back Fabregas with open arms

The midfielder’s outburst would have certainly put Arsenal on alert and the Gunners would undoubtedly welcome back Fabregas with open arms. Arsene Wenger had also revealed in the summer that his side have a first-option clause to bring back the midfielder to the Emirates and it is widely believed that if Fabregas were to leave Barcelona he would prefer a return to Arsenal.
