Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly instructed the club hierarchy to sell Vincent Kompany during the summer, according to reports
It is widely expected that incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will make a host of changes upon his arrival to the Etihad Stadium next season and a number of players are expected to arrive as well as depart the club over the summer.
One player who looked certain to stay put though as captain Vincent Kompany. Kompany has been the foundation upon which Manchester City have built their success upon over the past few years and it was believed that Guardiola would also view the Belgian as his main man.
Injury prone Kompany set for City exit?
According to surprise reports from the Sun though, claims have been made that Guardiola has instructed the City hierarchy to make Kompany available for a transfer in the summer.
The reports state that Guardiola has been left unimpressed by Kompany’s, who has made only 17 out of a possible 29 Premier League appearances this season, inability to keep himself fit and is open to selling the 29-year old for the right price.
In order to make up for the potential void, Guardiola already has a few targets in mind and his first choice is believed to be Athletic Bilbao’s young star Aymeric Laporte.
