French international Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he snubbed PSG in favour of Arsenal during the summer window.
Lacazette has been one of the hottest talents in Europe in recent years, performing brilliantly for Lyon during his time with the French outfit and as a result of goalscoring exploits; many top clubs have been pursuing the talented striker.
The 26-year-old eventually chose to move to Premier League giants Arsenal for a club record fee of£46.5million this summer and has revealed in a recent interview that he had the opportunity to sign giants PSG but decided against the move due to his connections with Lyon as well as desire to play in England.
Speaking with RMC sports the forward revealed, “We talked to PSG but I knew it was not where I wanted to go. In France, I would only play for Lyon.
“PSG could have helped me progress because of the big players they have but I wanted to play in another league.”
Lacazette will now surely hope to succeed at Arsenal, who will hope to get the best out of the forward after years of struggle in the position. The pacey forward has made a name for himself as a ruthless finisher and that will be the least expected of him at the Emirates Stadium this season.
Arsenal fans have been crying out for a potent goal-threat following the departure of Robin van Persie and they finally seem to have got the right man with a proven track record at the highest level.
