Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been heavily linked with a move to the Championship side Leeds United, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The powerful forward has been made surplus of requirement for the German side as he featured for only 539 minutes last season as Die Rothosen managed to survive relegation yet again.
The German forward had an impressive 2013/14 campaign though, scoring 13 times in 20 appearances but since then has seen injuries hamper his development.
The 25-year-old will now surely look to revive his career with a move to Elland Road and get back to scoring ways. However, the forward will face stiff competition from Chris Woods and Caleb Ekuban for the first team berth if the transfer takes place.
Hamburg are also reportedly interested in compensating for the player’s wages, should the high wage demands deter Leeds from signing the player. It will be something of a coup for Leeds United, should they be able finalize this deal in time.
Leeds look up and ready for the new season and this signing will make them even stronger as they look to return back to the Premier League.
