Premier League side Liverpool are in pole position to secure the services of Charlton Athletic wonderkid Ademola Lookman, according to reports emerging out of England
Jurgen Klopp has certainly made a huge impact since his arrival at Liverpool and the charismatic German recently led the Reds to the final of the Europa League following an impressive 3-0 victory over Villarreal on Thursday night.
Whether or not Liverpool go on to win the Europa League title and thus claim a Champions League spot for next season remains to be seen but it is clear that the Reds have made immense progress under Klopp during his short period at the club and things look set to be even better next season.
Klopp is expected to be handed financial backing to improve the Liverpool squad in the summer and a number of players have been linked with a move to Anfield over the past few weeks.
Lookman could be set for Liverpool move
Given Klopp’s faith in youngsters, it has been no surprise to see Liverpool targeting players with potential rather than readymade world class stars and now in another link, claims have been made that the Reds are eyeing up a move for Charlton Athletic wonderkid Ademola Lookman.
Lookman has burst into the scene for Charlton this season and having attracted the interest from a number of Premier League clubs, the teenage sensation is sure to be leaving the Valley in the summer.
The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were said to be interested in signing Lookman but now even Liverpool have joined in the race and are hoping to steal a march on their competitors by placing an early bid for the 18-year old within the coming days.
