Manchester United are set to make a world record £90million swoop for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale
Manchester United have been in the market to sign a marquee player for quite a while now and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has consistently been touted as the man whom the Red Devils would prefer to sign.
Bale has repeatedly insisted that he is happy at Madrid and does not want to leave but speculation linking the 26-year old away from the Santiago Bernabeu refuses to go away and recently, Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, fueled speculation regarding the Welsh international’s potential transfer to Old Trafford.
Balague had revealed that Bale has threatened the Real Madrid hierarchy by stating that he would be joining Manchester United if he is not awarded a central role.
Bale set for United move?
Balague said, “Bale’s people went to Florentino and told him, ‘unless you give him a central role, we’re going to Manchester United’.
“The promise from the club was that he would get that central role, and the briefing to Rafa Benitez was, ‘I know you’re the coach, but we’ve got a guy here that needs more responsibility.
“Bale is being tested to see if he can replace Ronaldo, and if they feel halfway through the season that is the case, then Ronaldo can go.”
To take advantage of the situation, it can now be revealed that United are preparing a whopping £90million bid for Gareth Bale and are confident of landing the Welsh superstar.
