Manchester United are set to place a £25million bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez following the breakdown of his contract talks with the Spanish side
While always considered very talented, Saul Niguez has proven himself to be arguably one of the best young players around in Europe at the moment following his fine performances for Atletico Madrid this season.
Niguez has been crucial to Atletico’s title push in La Liga this season and the midfielder is already considered an indispensible part under Diego Simeone.
Niguez heading to United?
Given his wonderful rise to prominence, it has been no surprise to see Atletico looking to secure the future of Niguez and there were reports that the Spanish giants had already begun talks of a brand new contract for the 21-year old – mainly to remove his current £25million release clause.
However, the talks have not gone as well as Atletico would have liked due to wage demands and now this has given encouragement to a host of clubs to pursue the services of the young midfielder.
Premier League giants Manchester United have been long time admirers of Niguez and now according to reports, it has been claimed that the Red Devils are ready to take advantage of the Spaniard’s contractual deadlock with Atletico by activating his £25million release clause this summer.
