According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are plotting an interesting plan to secure the services of Ross Barkley from Everton on a cut price.
It is no secret that Ross Barkley has set his heart on a move away from Everton this summer and Tottenham Hotspur were widely believed to be keen on signing the young England international.
With Everton holding out for around £50million for Barkley though, Tottenham have not yet reached an agreement for the attacker as Spurs feel that the asking price is simply too high for a player who is currently on the last year of his contract at Goodison Park.
The protracted negotiations have allowed other teams to also enter the race to sign Barkley and the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all believed to be keen on the Everton star as well.
United boss Jose Mourinho is a fan of Barkley but even the wealthy Red Devils are not ready to match his asking price.
However, the Daily Mirror have claimed that United are devising a cheeky plan to wait till the latter stages of the transfer window before making an approach for Barkley and sign him for a bargain price close to the £20-25million, as they are confident that Everton will be forced to cash in due to the danger of losing their prized asset for free next summer if a sale is not completed before deadline day.
