Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is open to allowing Anthony Martial to leave for Barcelona in exchange for Ivan Rakitic, according to reports from Daily Star.

Jose Mourinho and Anthony Martial endured a bit of a love-hate relationship last season and the Manchester United manager did not seem to have enough faith in the young Frenchman.

During the current campaign though, Martial has gone on to prove his worth in the initial stages of the campaign by scoring 5 goals as well as assisting 6 in a total of 9 matches and his impact has been very important in United’s stunning start to the campaign.

Due to his fine form, Martial has recently caught the attention of Barcelona and the Spanish giants are currently plotting a move for the 21-year-old as they look to strengthen the attack which has been weakened by Neymar’s summer departure from the Nou Camp.

While Mourinho has been impressed with Martial this season, the Portuguese manager is said to be open to parting with the attacker and he is allegedly looking to conduct a swap deal with Barcelona which will bring midfielder Ivan Rakitic to Old Trafford.

Mourinho is said to be a very keen admirer of Rakitic’s abilities and claims are being made that the United boss will offer up the services of Martial in order to land the Croatian international.
