According to Carlos Pena’s agent, the player views Rangers only as a stepping stone to a move to the English Premier League in the future.
Rangers have signed no less than eight new players in the transfer market so far and the man who has arguably managed to grab the attention of the club faithful has been midfielder Carlos Pena.
Pena has joined Rangers on a three year deal and the fans at the Ibrox Stadium are certainly excited to see what the Mexican international will be able to serve up during the upcoming Scottish Premier League campaign.
However, in revelations which is certain to anger the Rangers fans, Pena’s agent, Salvador Necochea, has bluntly stated that the midfielder views his current club as merely a stepping stone for a potential move to the English Premier League in the future.
Necochea said: “The objective is for Carlos to return to the level he was at a couple of years ago if he focuses 100 per cent on football and works hard.
“If he manages to do that, within no more than a couple of years he should be able to move to an English Premier League team, which is our aim. If he gets to the level we all know he can reach, he can do it.”
