Premier League strugglers Newcastle United are set to make a move for Zimbabwean international Matthew Rusike
Newcastle United have endured a terrible start to the season and following their 0-0 draw against Stoke City, the Magpies still find themselves languishing in one of the relegation positions in the Premier League table.
There are many problems plaguing Newcastle at the moment but the most evident one has been their lack of goals.
Barring their 6-2 victory over Norwich City, Newcastle United have managed to find the back of the net on only six occasions in 10 matches and such a record in front of goal is clearly not good enough.
Steve McClaren preparing a move for Rusike
As a result, it is widely expected that Newcastle will be making a move for a new striker upon the reopening of the transfer window in January and it can now be revealed that the Magpies have identified Matthew Rusike as a target.
Rusike had been plying his trade for Halmstads in Sweden but the striker is believed to have become a free agent following the Swedish side’s relegation.
With Rusike available, Newcastle have now expressed their interest in the Zimbabwean international and will look to make their move in January.
