Norwich City are eyeing up a very ambitious swoop for Porto attacker Vincent Aboubakar, according to reports from Fotomac.
Following their relegation into the Championship, Norwich City were widely tipped to earn promotion back into the Premier League due to the strength of their squad but that has not proven to be the case so far as the Canaries have undergone a tumultuous campaign.
With results going pear shaped, the club hierarchy dispensed with the services of manager Alex Neil and the likes of Alan Pardew, Roy Hodgson and Nigel Pearson have all been linked with the position at Carrow Road recently.
Whoever will come in as manager though, it does look very unlikely that Norwich will be able to grab a playoff berth this season and they would perhaps be better served to prepare for life in the Championship for next term.
Aboubakar heading to Norwich?
And this is certainly what Norwich seem to be doing as it has been revealed that the club are eyeing targets to pursue for this summer and in shock reports from Fotomac, revelations have been made that the Canaries are eyeing up a swoop for Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar.
The Cameroon international is a well reputed striker who is currently out on loan at Besiktas and he has been in good form for the Turkish side, scoring 12 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Despite his good run, it does look like Aboubakar is surplus to requirements at parent club Porto and the 25-year-old is now widely expected to be departing the Portuguese giants next season.
A number of clubs across Europe would surely be keen on signing Aboubakar if he is made available and now Norwich have emerged as the shock candidates to secure his services, with the Canaries believed to be readying a £10 million bid for the prolific star.
