Nottingham Forest FC manager Warburton wants to sign John McGinn

Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton is looking to make new additions during the January transfer window and as a result, he has reignited an interest in Hibernian’s John McGinn as his top target.

Mark Warburton is believed to have used the links available with his during his time at Rangers to scout talented midfielder John McGinn and is now seeking to prepare a January bid for the player.

It is believed that Forest had previously made an approach for the young midfielder during the summer transfer window but their bid of £750,000 was rejected by Hibernian, who deemed the offer to be too low for a player of McGinn’s calibre.

This means that Warburton will need to make another bid for the midfielder in January and that the offer will need to be more than Hibs valuation of McGinn, which is around £5 million, if they are to have any hope of landing the midfielder.
