Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers are in pole position to sign Sergi Gomez, according to reports emerging out of England
Queens Park Rangers could only manage a mediocre 12th placed finish in the Championship last season and one can be sure that the Hoops will be having much loftier aspirations during the upcoming campaign.
In order for QPR to challenge for promotion next season though, one can be sure that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will need to strengthen his squad and a host of names have already started being linked with a move to Loftus Road over the past few weeks.
Gomez heading to QPR?
Recently, it had been claimed that QPR were lining up an ambitious move for Celta Vigo defender Sergi Gomez and that the Championship based outfit would be ready to splash as much as £4.6million in order to acquire the services of the Spaniard.
However, QPR were not alone in their interest of Gomez and claims were being made that even Fulham are interested in the 24-year-old.
Now in a further development to the story, it can be revealed that QPR have indeed moved into pole position in the race to sign Gomez and that the defender making a move to Loftus Road is a possibility as he is entering the final year of his deal at Celta.
