According to reports from Sky Sports, promotion chasing Championship side Reading are in negotiations over the signing of Reece Oxford from West Ham United.
Reece Oxford burst into the scene for West Ham United last season and although the youngster has not featured on too many occasions during the current campaign, it is clear to see that the Hammers rate the 18-year-old very highly.
West Ham tied down Oxford to a lucrative new contract last month and it is believed that the Premier League outfit are now ready to allow the youngster to leave on loan during the current January transfer window in order for him to continue his development with regular minutes on the pitch.
Oxford set for Reading move
With only a few hours of the current window remaining, a host of Championship clubs have expressed their interest in signing Oxford and now revelations can be made that the teenage sensation could be on his way to Reading.
Sky Sports have reported that Reading are currently in advanced talks with West Ham over the signing of Oxford on a loan deal till the end of the season and the transfer is now expected to be completed within the next few hours.
In addition to Reading, the likes of Rangers, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are all hopeful of signing the youngster but the Royals currently remain in the driver’s seat to secure his services.
