Reports have suggested that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has urged Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to make a bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be a big fan of Andre Gomes since his days with Valencia and the Portuguese boss was even reported to be eyeing the midfielder when he was manager of Chelsea a couple of seasons ago.
Mourinho was unable to sign Gomes for Chelsea though as the 24-year-old ended up joining Barcelona in 2016 but it now looks like the Portuguese international will be leaving the Nou Camp in the foreseeable future as he has struggled to establish himself at the club.
Now according to reports, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has urged Mourinho, currently at Manchester United, to renew his interest for the talented enforcer and bring him to Old Trafford.
Manchester United did not show interest in Gomes during the summer transfer window but they might look at the possibility of signing the midfielder in January, as it looks very likely that Michael Carrick will depart from Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Signing the Barcelona midfielder might be risky for United as he has not performed as well as expected for the Catalan giants during his time there and it will be interesting to see how the transfer unfolds.
