Tottenham Hotspur FC target Ante Rebić to solve striking woes

Tottenham Hotspur have so far made a mediocre start to life in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino and although there have been couple of encouraging signs for Spurs under the Argentinean manager, the most glaring problem that is plaguing the North London side has been their lack of goals.

Tottenham have managed only nine goals in seven matches this season and despite currently sitting pretty in sixth place in the Premier League, one suspects that Spurs’ lack of cutting edge in attack could eventually prove to be detrimental in their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

The main reason behind Spurs’ lack of goals has evidently been the poor form of their front men. Tottenham’s current crop of strikers which includes the trio of Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane, have failed to make any sort of impact whatsoever this season and do not look at all confident in front of goal.

As a result, it is widely believe that Pochettino will be looking to strengthen his attacking options in the January transfer window and is already said to have been identifying potential transfer targets.

There have been a host of strikers linked with a move to White Hart Lane over the past few weeks and another name in Ante Rebić has recently emerged as a potential target for Spurs.

Rebić plies his trade with Italian side Fiorentina and is currently out on loan to German side RB Leipzig. The 21-year old earned a reputation as one of the finest young strikers around in world football during his spell with RNK Split and had consequently, earned a move to Fiorentina last season.

However, the striker did not enjoy the best of spells with Viola, making only 5 appearances for the club and was shipped out on loan to Leipzig over the summer.

While Rebić is still rated highly by Fiorentina, it is believed that the Italian side could be open to cash in on the striker and now according to reports in Croatia, Tottenham Hotspur have registered their interest in securing the services of the young man.

It is believed that Spurs are looking to make a swoop for the 21-year old in January and in order to facilitate the move, his loan spell at Leipzig will most likely be cut short in the coming weeks.

Although a strange link due to the fact that Rebić is yet to prove himself at the highest level, he could well prove to be a good addition to the ranks at Spurs as the striker certainly possesses immense potential and his arrival could well keep established names such Adebayor and Soldado on their toes.
