West Bromwich Albion FC planning move for FC Barcelona’s Thomas Vermaelen

As reported by the Daily Mirror (as reported by the Birmingham Mail), West Bromwich Albion are considering a surprise move for Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen.

West Bromwich Albion have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window so far and the only signing who has managed to grab the attention is that of Jay Rodriguez from Southampton for a fee of around £11.65million.

It is now believed that the Baggies will be looking to ramp up their efforts in the transfer market during the upcoming days and according to reports from the Daily Mirror, claims have been made that the Midlands outfit are currently considering a move for Barcelona man Thomas Vermaelen.

Vermaelen has endured an injury hit period since leaving Arsenal for Barcelona back in 2014 but nonetheless, he is quality defender on his day and West Brom are said to be hoping to take a chance on the Belgian international if he becomes available on a free transfer.
