West Ham United plotting a big money swoop for former Arsenal FC midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup
West Ham United have made a blistering start to their season so far and under the tutelage of the charismatic Slaven Bilic, the Hammers finishing in one of the European positions this season would not be an unrealistic possibility.
With the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea all challenging for a finish in the top six though, claiming a European spot will be easier said than done for the Hammers and one suspects that Bilic will have to strengthen his side in order to compete with the aforementioned teams.
In a bid to provide a boost to his side, Bilic is already said to be looking at various options in the transfer market and it can now be revealed that the Croatian boss has identified Turkish international Oguzhan Ozyakup as a target.
Ozyakup being courted by West Ham United
Ozyakup plied his trade as a youngster for Arsenal and since his £300,000 move to Turkish side Besiktas back in 2012, he has developed into one of the finest young midfielders around in Europe.
Now a regular for the Turkish national team as well as an integral part of the Besiktas side, a host of top clubs have been expressed their interest in signing Ozyakup and reports emerging out of England have claimed that West Ham are hoping to swoop in for the 23-year old.
Bilic is well aware of Ozyakup’s abilities after having enjoyed a successful relationship with the midfielder during his time in Turkey and the Hammers’ boss will be hoping for a reunion at the Boleyn Ground by placing a bid in the region of around £10million upon the reopening of the January transfer window.
