Yaya Toure is arguably the best midfielder in the world at the moment. On a back of a brilliant campaign with Manchester City where he played a crucial role in helping the Citizens lift the title by scoring an astounding 20 goals from midfield, Toure is currently on the form of his life.

A midfield player who can play as a defensive player as well as a creative force for his team, there are not many players in the world who can dominate a game in a manner that Toure can and there does not seem to be any weaknesses in the 31-year old’s game.

One criticism directed towards Toure is the fact that he tends to drift in and out of games but if he is able to continue his rich vein of form in Brazil, Ivory Coast stand every chance of making history in the World  Cup.

Didier Drogba is the undisputed star of the Ivory Coast national team and the iconic striker is worshipped back in his homeland. A leader both on and off the pitch, Drogba’s influence on the whole nation of Ivory Coast cannot be stated enough and he has to be considered one of the most powerful footballers in the world.

At 36, this will surely be Drogba’s last appearance in a World Cup finals and he will surely be hoping to repay his legions of supporters by guiding his nation to success in Brazil.

Despite his advancing age, Drogba remains an integral part of the Ivory Coast side and is the focal point of the Elephants’ attack. His dominating physical presence will undoubtedly give defenders a tough time and his goalscoring prowess will be vital for Ivory Coast’s chances.

While the departure of Didier Drogba will surely be a huge blow for the Ivory Coast national team, they probably will not have to search too long in order to find a striker who can fill his enormous boots as in Wilfried Bony, the Elephants already seem to possess a ready-made replacement for the Ivorian legend.

Tall, powerful and an eye for goal, Bony is a similar player to Drogba and while the Swansea City striker still has a long way to go in order to match the achievements of his more illustrious compatriot, the 25-year old is certainly heading towards the right direction.

Bony has all the attributes that a top striker requires and he will now have to prove that he can perform well at the highest level by putting up a good show at the World Cup.

Just thinking of the prospect of facing Drogba and Bony will send chills down the spine of opposition defenders and if the two strikers perform to their full capabilities, Ivory Coast will surprise quite a few people in Brazil.
