Xherdan Shaqiri is the undoubted star of Swiss football. Having made his debut for Basel as a prodigious 17-year old, the winger as emerged as one of the finest young players in the world and at 22, it is frightening to think what the young man can go on to achieve in his career.

A relative newcomer to the international scene, Josip Drmic is another one of the immensely talented young players to have emerged from Switzerland in recent times.

The striker enjoyed a fantastic season with Nuremburg where he managed to score 17 league goals, despite his side struggling at the lower reaches of the Bundesliga and such form has seen him earn a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen.
