Brentford FC angrily reject Burnley FC’s bid for Alan Judge

Brentford have rejected Burnley’s offer to sign Alan Judge ahead of the two side’s clash in the Championship on Friday night

Alan Judge has arguably been one of the stars of the Championship so far this season and his 10 goals as well as 8 assists in 24 matches has been crucial in Brentford occupying a respectable 10th place in the Championship table so far.

Given Judge’s fine form, it has been no surprise whatsoever to see a host of clubs expressing their interest in signing the 27-year old and it was recently revealed that promotion hopefuls Burnley were leading the race for the midfielder.

It can now be revealed that Burnley have indeed placed a bid for Judge ahead of their encounter against Brentford on Friday night and perhaps unsurprisingly, the offer has been angrily knocked back by the Bees.

Brentford not willing to sell Judge to Burnley

Brentford boss Dean Smith was not left too impressed with the timing of Burnley’s bid for Judge and has stated that he will be looking to keep the Irishman at Griffin Park despite the Clarets’ controversial courting tactics.

Smith said, “I think it’s key to keep him. It can be unsettling but Alan gets on with his game. He’s got a valuation to this club and he’s been kept in the loop all along.

“Maybe Burnley’s timing is not right but it depends on how you look at it with a game on Friday against them. I’d hope to keep Alan – he’s been a big player so far this season.”
