Andrej Kramaric set for Chelsea FC move says father

Andrej Kramaric is probably the hottest striker in Europe at the moment. The 23-year old has been in quite scintillating form this season for Croatian side HNK Rijeka, scoring an incredible 28 goals in only 30 appearances this season.

Such form has understandably seen Kramaric attract the interest from a host of top clubs around Europe and the striker himself has indicated that he is ready to earn his big move to an elite Champions League side.

Among the many teams interested in the services of Kramaric, Chelsea were said to have been leading the race to sign the striker.

However, to put his potential move to Chelsea in doubt, Kramaric had himself recently hinted that he is looking to earn a transfer to a Spanish side as the division would suit his style of play.

The striker had said, “To be honest I have not slept for several nights because I do not know what to choose. I would love to play in La Liga because the Spanish style is ideally suited to me.

“Ideally, I’m looking for a lucrative offer from great club where I can have excellent playing time, but you will balance out all the options and pick the right move. In any case, this is a story with a happy ending.”

However, the transfer saga has taken another twist after Kramaric’s father, Josip, confirmed that Chelsea have already made their move in an attempt to sign the 23-year old and stated that the fact that Atletico Madrid are not willing to pay more than €5million for his son’s services means that the young man moving to the Vicente Calderon looks unlikely.

Speaking to Croatian news outlet T Portal, Josip Kramaric, said, “There is nothing new. It’s true, there is again the desire of Chelsea and Mourinho for him to come to London.

“Who knows, maybe he’ll end up in the Vitesse or some such smaller club. As far as Atletico are concerned, we know that they do not want to offer more than €5m.”
