Arsenal have had a bid for Danilo Pereira rejected and will need to splash £29million to sign the Porto star, according to reports
Arsenal have endured another disappointing campaign once again and many are now calling for long serving manager Arsene Wenger to step down following another season of failure.
Despite the unrest among the fans, Wenger has made it clear that he will look to see through his contract at Arsenal which expires at the end of next season and the club faithful will simply have to be patient for another year.
That said though, Wenger would most certainly want to bow out with a bang and many are expecting the Frenchman to finally splash the cash to strengthen his squad over the upcoming summer.
A number of high profile players have already started being linked with a move to Arsenal over the past few months and recently, it had been claimed that the Gunners had placed a bid to sign Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.
Bringing in a new midfielder next season will be of paramount importance for Arsenal and it had been claimed that Wenger had identified Pereira as his main target.
In a fresh development to the story, revelations can be made that Arsenal’s initial bid for Pereira has been rejected and Porto will not be willing to sell the 24-year old for a fee less than his release clause of around £29million.
