Arsenal are keen on securing the services of Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, according to reports

Liverpool splashed a whopping £32.5million to secure the services of Christian Benteke over the summer and it was expected that the Belgian would be able to fill in the void left at Anfield by the departure of Luis Suarez a couple of seasons ago.

Benteke made a decent start to life at Liverpool but following the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as manager midway through the season; the striker has found himself used largely on an impact substitute capacity only.

Currently behind the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and even Divock Origi in the pecking order, it is clear to see that Benteke is not part of the plans for Klopp and the Belgian is widely expected to be moved on at the end of the current campaign.

Benteke set for Arsenal move?

Now according to surprise reports emerging out of England, claims have been made that Benteke is being courted by Arsenal.

Arsenal have made a hash of their Premier League title challenge this season and many believe that the Gunners made a huge aberration by not signing a striker during the January transfer window.

Now Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is planning to rectify the error and is hopeful of landing the services of Benteke on a cut price deal next summer.
