Aston Villa to reignite their pursuit for Emmanuel Adebayor in order to ease their struggles in the Premier League

Having spent heavily in the transfer market over the summer, Aston Villa began the Premier League campaign with a lot of optimism but unfortunately, the Villans have endured a terrible start so far.

Villa have lost six of their opening eight matches of the season and manager Tim Sherwood is clearly finding himself under a lot of pressure.

There are a host of problems plaguing Aston Villa at the moment but the most glaring issue that has troubled the Premier League side has been their lack of goals.

After losing Christian Benteke to Liverpool over the summer, Villa look toothless in attack and this can be evidenced by the fact that the strugglers have managed to score only 8 goals so far this season.

Adebayor likely to join Aston Villa

The struggles in front of goals has prompted Sherwood to scour the free transfer market in search of a potential candidate to strengthen his attack and it can now be revealed that the 46-year old is set to make an approach for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Villa came close to signing Adebayor during the summer but the deal did not come into fruition due to disagreements in the wage package between the two parties.

Adebayor has since been released by Tottenham Hotspur and following some time off, the striker is now ready to make a return to the pitch.

The likes of West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Monaco were said to be interested in signing Adebayor and it can now be revealed that Villa have joined in the race to sign the former Togo international.

Sherwood does enjoy a good relationship with Adebayor after having brought the best out of him at Tottenham and Villa could well decide to heed to the 31-year old’s wage demands given their current struggles.
