Derby County are currently considering a swoop for young Australian forward Peter Skapitis, according to reports
Derby County brought in the high profile striking duo of James Wilson and Matej Vydra to the club this summer but despite the arrival of the two players, the Rams have struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis in the Championship so far.
As a result, manager Nigel Pearson is already said to be looking at options to improve his squad during the January transfer window and according to reports emerging out of England, claims have been made that the Derby boss is eyeing up a swoop for Australian forward Peter Skapitis.
Skapitis is currently a free agent but he has been training with the Stoke Under-23 team in a bid to return to full fitness after suffering a devastating ligament injury a few seasons ago.
It looks unlikely that Skapitis will be earning a permanent contract at Stoke but claims are being made that Derby County are ready to take a chance on the striker and he has been seen as a minimum risk signing for the Rams due to his current status as a free agent.
