Premier League outfit Leeds United have completed the signing of Joel Ekstrand, according to reports emerging out of Sweden
Ekstrand joined Watford from Udinese during the summer of 2012 and he played a key role in helping the Hornets earn promotion into the Premier League last term.
However, a devastating cruciate ligament knee injury meant that the defender did not make a single appearance in the Premier League last season and was eventually released by the club over the summer.
Despite his unceremonious exit from Watford though, Ekstrand has been courted by a number of Championship clubs in England and it had recently been claimed that Leeds United were keen on signing the Swedish international.
Now in a further development to the link, reports emerging out of Sweden have claimed that Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign the 27-year-old.
The Whites have not officially confirmed the deal but it is believed that Ekstrand has signed with the Championship side on a three year contract and he could well prove to be a very good recruit in Leeds’ bid to earn promotion during the upcoming Championship campaign.
