Everton are said to be planning an ambitious swoop to bring back Gerard Deulofeu to the club

Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu could be in line to make a sensational return to Everton after it has been reported that the Premier League side are looking to lure the winger to Goodison Park with a £8million offer.

Deulofeu enjoyed a fine season on loan at Everton last year and it was believed that manager Roberto Martinez was keen on re-signing the youngster on a temporary deal during the current campaign as well.

Barca boss Luis Enrique had other plans for Deulofeu though and in order for the young man to earn experience in the La Liga – the club had sent the 20-year old on loan to Spanish side Sevilla instead.

However, Deulofeu has found regular first team football hard to come by at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium and with the young man failing to impress, there has been suggestions that Barcelona may well contemplate allowing him to leave the Camp Nou permanently.

Everton understandably have been closely monitoring Deulofeu’s situation and it is now believed that the Toffees are hopeful of landing the signature of the 20-year old on a permanent deal.

While it remains to be seen if Deulofeu would want to make a move to Everton permanently, the potential transfer could prove to be beneficial to the young man’s career development and unlikely as it may seem, the Toffees will also do all they can to land the winger – as evidenced by their big money signing of Romelu Lukaku over the summer.

Deulofeu made 29 appearances and scored 4 goals for Everton last season and his addition will most certainly be a big boost for the Toffees.
