Premier League champions Chelsea have identified Yannick Bolasie as a target in January
Chelsea’s problems have been well documented this season and following the recent 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, the Blues currently find themselves languishing in 16th position in the table after 12 matches.
Many believe that the main reason behind Chelsea’s torrid start to the season has been due to their woeful performances in defence and while this claim may well be true, the Blues have not been anything special in attack as well – having managed only 16 goals so far.
Therefore, manager Jose Mourinho is likely to be reinforcing his attacking lineup as well during the January transfer window and a host of players have already started being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent times.
Now Winner Sports can exclusively reveal that Chelsea have identified Yannick Bolasie as a priority target upon the reopening of the transfer window.
Bolasie has arguably been one of the best wingers in the Premier League over the past few years and the 26-year old has been crucial in helping Crystal Palace establish themselves as a top flight side.
With Bolasie performing so well, it has been no surprise whatsoever to see the winger being courted by a host of top clubs and Tottenham Hotspur were said to be keen on signing the Eagles’ star over the summer.
Such a move evidently did not come into fruition but the interest in Bolasie is expected to be revived in January and it can be revealed that Chelsea are eyeing up a move for the DR Congo international.
Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard has grossly underperformed so far this season and it is believed that the Belgium international has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
Once indispensible, Chelsea are said to be considering dispensing with the services of Hazard if the right offer comes along and the Blues have shortlisted Bolasie as the ideal replacement to replace their star man.
