Hoddle in Newcastle talks

Glenn Hoddle is being lined up for a role at Newcastle.

The former England boss  is in talks about a possible role as director of football following Joe Kinnear’s departure.

But we understand he is holding out for the job as manager with Alan Pardew’s future in doubt.

Winner Sports revealed Pardew’s  position has been under threat and Ashley has been looking to replace him. He is not happy at the way the club have been going.

So talks have been talking place with Hoddle and his representatives  about a move to St James’ Park.

Hoddle  has been out of a managerial role since leaving Wolves but has been involved in coaching.

A Newcastle source revealed: “Talks have taken place about bring Hoddle to the club. He has great contacts throughout Europe and is respected in the game.

“After the debacle of the Joe Kinnear era, Ashley knows he has to make a big decision. Whether Glenn will want to work under the current regime remains to be seen. But talks are ongoing.”
