Bristol City are likely to lose the services of star striker Jonathan Kodjia at the end of the season, according to manager Lee Johnson
Bristol City took a bit of a gamble by splashing a sizeable £2.1million to secure the services of Jonathan Kodjia over the summer but it is clear to see that the leap of faith has paid off.
Kodjia has starred for Bristol City in the Championship so far, scoring 14 goals in 40 appearances and his contribution has been crucial in helping the Robins stand a chance of avoiding the drop into League One this season.
Inevitably, Kodjia has been earning a lot of attention from a host of clubs following his goalscoring exploits and manager Lee Johnson has gone on to acknowledge the fact that he could lose the striker during the summer.
The Bristol manager said, “I’m sure he will be attracting all sorts of interest because of his goals and the way he plays. There are very few players with the quality he has around and, if we can get him up to 17 or 18 goals, then it will have been an outstanding first season in the Championship for him.
“Of course, we want to keep our best players, but you never know. If he can get up to 17 or 18 goals then, at his age, there could be all sorts interested in him.”
