Nottingham Forest are planning to appoint former Olympiacos and Marseille manager Michel this summer
A host of names such as Ivan Vukomanovic, Pep Clotet, Neil Lennon and Gus Poyet have all been linked with the managerial position at Nottingham Forest over the past few weeks but due to the impending takeover of the club, an appointment has not been made as of yet.
Nonetheless, a host of names continue to be linked with the managerial position at the City Ground and now according to reports emerging out of England, it has been claimed that Forest are considering making a swoop for Real Madrid legend Michel.
Michel is a manager of considerable experience, having led the likes of Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid B, Getafe, Sevilla, Olympiacos and Marseille in a 10 year career in management.
The 53-year-old was sacked by Marseille back in April for disciplinary reasons as well as due to the fact that the French side were languishing in 15th place during his time of departure.
Despite his acrimonious exit from France, Forest are said to be keen on landing the services of Michel in the summer and could make their move within the next few weeks.
Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to be on the verge of an 80% takeover for Forest and the Greek businessman wants reunite with Michel at the City Ground, as he is well aware of the Spaniard’s managerial capabilities.
