Leicester City have endured a tough start to life in the Premier League and with the Foxes currently at the bottom of the table, relegation remains a distinct possibility.

However, their recent results have proven that the Foxes will not go down without a fight and Nigel Pearson’s men cannot be placed as certainties for the drop as of yet.

In order to aid his side’s fight against relegation, Pearson has indicated that he will be looking to strengthen the ranks at his disposal during the January transfer window and has already secured the services of veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.

Strengthening the attack also remains a high priority in the to do list for Pearson as his side have scored only 19 goals so far this season and as a result, a host of attacking players have been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium.

Among the names linked with Leicester, Japanese international Shinji Okazaki has been touted as a realistic target for the Foxes and now the striker has moved on to fuel speculation that he could be on his way to join Pearson’s side before the end of the month.

Okazaki has stated that he has not heard anything from Leicester as of yet but insisted that he would be open to such a move and is hoping to impress the Foxes by performing well in the upcoming Asian Cup.

Okazaki said, “I have not heard about it so much. I believe the transfer could go well if I play well in this tournament as I did in previous one [2011 Asia Cup win]. This is my last chance [to move to England] considering my age so I will consider carefully.”

Okazaki currently plies his trade for German side Mainz and has been in fine form so far this season, scoring 8 goals in just 14 appearances.
