Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a deal to secure the services of Sabri Sarioglu, according to reports emerging out of England

Sheffield Wednesday have taken a huge step towards promotion into the Premier League following their 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Championship semi final first leg encounter on Friday night.

Admittedly, Wednesday still have a lot of work to do in order to actually seal a place in the English top flight but Carlos Carvalhal’s men certainly look in very good shape at the moment.

Whether or not the Owls eventually manage to earn promotion remains to be seen but one can be sure that Carvalhal will be looking to significantly strengthen his squad regardless this summer.

Sarioglu to join Wednesday

A few names have been mentioned as targets for Wednesday over the past few weeks and now according to reports emerging out of England, it has been claimed that the Championship side have already agreed a deal to sign Turkish international Sabri Sarioglu.

Sarioglu is currently plying his trade for Turkish outfit Galatasaray and the right back is a club legend, having made close to 450 appearances for the giants.

However, it looks like Sarioglu will be leaving his beloved Galatasaray at the end of the season as he has not yet signed an extension to his contract which is set to expire in June.

Carvalhal is well aware of Sarioglu’s abilities from his time in Turkish football and it has been claimed that the Portuguese tactician has managed to convince the 31-year old to join Wednesday during the upcoming summer.
