Promotion chasing Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are planning a summer move for Nelson Oliveira, according to reports
Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a productive season so far and are in contention to earn a playoff position in the Championship.
It remains to be seen whether or not Wednesday will be able to win promotion but manager Carlos Cavalhal is already making moves to strengthen his squad during the summer regardless and now Portuguese international Nelson Oliveira has emerged as a target for the Owls.
Oliveira is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Benfica and the striker has managed to impress during his time at the City Ground so far, scoring 9 goals in the Championship so far.
In addition, his overall play has made Oliveira a firm favourite with the fans and it is believed that Forest are hopeful of signing the 24-year old on a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign.
Forest are likely to face competition in their pursuit of Oliveira though as it has been revealed that even Sheffield Wednesday have now entered in the race to sign the striker.
Cavalhal is well aware of Oliveira’s abilities and claims have been made that the Wednesday boss is looking to lure his Portuguese compatriot to Hillsborough by using his contacts.
