Swansea City AFC looking to hijack QPR’s move for Yann M’Vila

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has made it no secret that he is looking to reinvest the cash influx received by the sale of Wilfried Bony to Manchester City, to strengthen his squad and has already acted on his promise by bringing in Kyle Naughton from Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, recruiting a like for like replacement for Bony will be high on the priority list for Monk and as a result, the likes of Aleksandr Mitrovic, Jordan Rhodes and Anthony Modeste have all been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium in recent times.

It is now believed that Monk is also looking to bolster his ranks at the middle of the park and according to reports emerging out of England, the 35-year old is eyeing a swoop for French midfielder Yann M’Vila.

M’Vila is currently on loan at Italian side Inter Milan but it is looking increasingly likely that the 24-year old will cut his spell at the San Siro short after failing to cement a regular first team place at the club.

M’Vila’s parent club, Rubin Kazan, is also not too keen on taking back the midfielder due to their financial predicament and it is widely expected that he will spend another loan spell at a different club till the end of the season.

It was recently stated by M’Vila’s agent that Premier League side Queens Park Rangers were leading the race to sign the midfielder but now, it has been claimed that Swansea are looking to hijack the Hoops’ pursuit of the 24-year old by making a late swoop.

The Swans are hopeful that M’Vila will elect to join them rather than be involved in a relegation scrap with QPR and if indeed they are able to land the midfielder, he could prove to be a great addition to the ranks at the Liberty Stadium.
