Tottenham Hotspur FC’s £8million bid for Emmanuel Emenike rebuffed

It is clear that Tottenham Hotspur possess a real gem on their hands in Harry Kane. The young striker has impressed this season and recently put in a brilliant performance in Spurs’ 5-3 victory over Chelsea which reaffirmed the fact that he is on the path to superstardom.

Despite Kane going on from strength to strength this season, it is clear that Spurs require a new striker to support the young man as the duo of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor have been very disappointing so far.

As a result, Manager Mauricio Pochettino looks set to bring in a new striker to White Hart Lane over the January the transfer window and Fenerbahçe hitman Emmanuel Emenike had been touted as a realistic target for Spurs this month.

However a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of signing Emenike, it has been revealed by Fenerbahçe president, Aziz Yildirim, that he has rejected the London sides’ bid for the striker and is not interested in letting him leave the club anytime soon.

Yildrim said, “Emenike offer came, they gave 10 million Euros. However, I trust him. I therefore rejected the offer. I trust Emenike and Diego. Emenike, as well as Diego will add to the strength of our team in the second half of the season.

“They will give the performance expected of them. They will make a major contribution towards our success. I have no doubt about this.”

Now with Spurs unlikely to be able to lure Emenike to White Hart Lane, the London side will have to focus on targets elsewhere and the likes of Saido Berahino and Paul-Georges Ntep have been mentioned as the players whom Mauricio Pochettino would want to bring to the club.
