Swansea City AFC planning a swoop for ex-Celtic FC man Jackson Irvine

Premier League outfit Swansea City are considering a surprise move for Burton Albion FC star Jackson Irvine, according to reports from Wales Online.

Paul Clement has certainly managed to revive the fortunes of Swansea City since taking over at the club from Bob Bradley back in January and under the tutelage of the 45-year-old, the Welsh side look more than capable of avoiding relegation into the Championship.

While there is certainly a long way to go, Swansea look in very good shape at the moment and Clement is most likely to continue the progress at the Liberty Stadium, regardless of whether or not the Swans are able to avoid the drop.

As a testament to this fact, revelations can now be made that Clement is looking to bolster his side for next season by eyeing up a move for Burton Albion’s star midfielder Jackson Irvine.

Irvine joined Burton from Ross County over the summer for an undisclosed fee and the 24-year-old has proven to be a huge hit at the Pirelli Stadium, scoring an impressive 9 goals in 32 appearances from a central midfield position.

Such exploits from Irvine have unsurprisingly not gone unnoticed and now according to reports from Wales Online, Swansea are keen on staving off competition from six other Championship sides to secure the services of the Australian international next summer.
